Welcome...
In May of 2005, over 900 people gathered to mourn the loss of one of Apopka's finest son's: Adam Michael Stratton.
Adam was on his way home after completing his freshman year at Florida State University when his life was tragically cut short as a result of a car accident.
He was past president of the Apopka High School Honor Society, an accomplished athlete, President of the Young Business Leaders Organization, represented Apopka as an ambassador in the 1996 Olympics, recognized as a "Dreamer and Doer" by Walt Disney World and still found time to teach Vacation Bible School. By all measures he was truly an exemplary citizen and a fine young man.
But Adam's accomplishments paled in comparison to the powerful impression he left on the hearts of everyone he touched. It was his fun-loving nature and outgoing personality that made him attract friends like a magnet. Adam never knew a stranger. He was everybody's brother, a friend, a son and someone you wanted on your team.
Although his passing at the tender age of 19 leaves a space that can't be filled, his spirit of leadership, fortitude to beat the odds, commitment to community service, pursuit of higher education and overall drive for success, must live on.
Please join us in building his legacy through the Adam Stratton Memorial Scholarship Foundation. Together with your support we'll work to build Apopka's largest scholarship program. The foundation will secure the college futures of hundreds of Apopka's finest students and athletes.
